Hello my friends,
I'm visiting my family again in Nova Scotia.
In spite of my mother's dementia, which is still progressing, we're having a good time visiting - love is so strong, despite illness. She's still able to recognize us, which is a great gift.
We've eaten at fabulous restaurants, enjoyed a lot of cloudy days and fog - so typical on the edge of the Atlantic ocean.
This is a special weekend celebrating Natal Day - lots of festivities. The ambience is marvellous and so are the sights. I've taken lots of photos; will post more next.
I'll be back on the weekend of August 9. Love Josette

Away on a Family Emergency
I left Montreal in haste three weeks ago as I was given the news that my mother was put on end of life care. She hung on for four more days, during which my brother and I were keeping a vigil on her. She went away in comfort and peace, thankfully. She was 84.
We had already lost her piece by piece since she had been suffering from dementia for a long time, so a part of the mourning process has already been done. It feels strange that way; I`m relieved that nothing further will happen to make her suffer.
She was a feisty one and so funny and affectionate too.

Going Away To Nova Scotia Again
Thank you for all the comments, support and faves. I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up with everything; I've been feeling overwhelmed.
I'm going away to visit my family and these visits keep getting harder, as my mother is in an advanced stage of dementia now and my brother more depressed than ever, his life a mess. This is hard to witness and feeling this powerless.
Thankfully, it is in a beautful area by the Atlantic Ocean and I have my wonderful companion to travel with me.
